Rusty's Letter

I hope they will accept me into their program because I sure need someone to  guide me. It's really hard being 18 and all alone.

If you would like to donate to my education, please contact the Timothy Tuition Program soon so I can start applying for college. Thank you for listening to my story!

donations are tax deductible.

Hi Everyone!

My name is Rusty. I am an 18-year-old boy who has lived in nine different foster homes with families throughout Northern California. I have had to change schools seven times since I was 11 years old. It's sure been tough on me.

This year I will graduate from high school with a 3.2 grade-point- average. My teachers tell me I've done exceptionally well considering I've had to move around so often. It's not been easy getting good grades since I have changed schools seven times in seven years, while making new friends and adjusting to new families, teachers and environment.

Now that I've turned 18 and will graduate, I am no longer eligible to live with a foster family. I don't know what my future will be. I'm really scared. I've dreamed about going to college but no one has ever talked to me personally about furthering my education so I don't know where to begin.

I learned at a foster care meeting that there is a new program called the Timothy Tuition Scholarship Program that will help get me started in an accredited college or trade school, and their Board of Directors will even help me research funding for future college years and be there for me during my education.
